Lead Project Engineer

You will be working as Lead Project Engineer, reporting to R&D/Technology Manager for Electrification business area, Smart Buildings Division based in Hyderabad, India. You will be responsible to execute mechanical design projects for residential load centers, meter socket load centers, AC Disconnects, and other residential electrical equipment to drive growth thru quality improvements, cost optimization, and new product introduction.

Your responsibilities

• Demonstrating solid technical proficiency in mechanical design and project execution while executing design projects. Documenting, designing, creating, and maintaining bill of materials and supporting documents to ensure a robust historical record of the products being designed
• Ensuring alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality) and coordinating activities. Demonstrating sound understanding and actively apply R&D processes and tools
• Identifying risk assessment and mitigation plans for each R&D Project. Using sound engineering logic and available data to reduce risk and developing strong plans to mitigate risks early and reducing them in a stepwise fashion
• Developing test plans for product certification. Planning and building prototypes, reviewing, and interpreting results. Maintaining awareness of state-of-art technology, as well as ABB products and technologies, identifying and understanding technical drivers for R&D projects in your area
• Understanding what creates customer value in our R&D projects and project portfolio of our organization and work to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction according to incoming requests
• Participating in networks in own area, including relevant engineering networks in order to further knowledge in targeted area of expertise

Your background

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4-8 years of experience in with demonstrated success in project execution
• Having experience in designing with CREO from concept development to detailed design
• Demonstrated technical leadership and organizational skills
• Fluent spoken and written English
