In this role, you will:

  • Lead the review, resolution and implementation for the most complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale network applications, data systems, voice and other technical products and services
  • Use and create diagnostic, simulation and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot and restore service or data to systems
  • Evaluate or review queries to extract data, create standard procedures, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supported
  • Research performance trends and recommend process improvements
  • Perform complex migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations and configurations
  • Make decisions in security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions
  • Assess changes for risk to production systems and assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areas
  • Identify gaps in current technology processes and recommend changes to assure Service Level Agreements can be supported
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in Network Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Experience in Network Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience.
  • 15+ years of experience designing LAN/WAN/-campus network solutions for large enterprises.
  • 15+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP) in a large enterprise environment
  • Experience with configuration of Cisco routing and switching latest platforms and solutions - Cisco Nexus and Arista product line.
  • Excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with creating and or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams (proficiency
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Visio Professional
  • Must be self-driven and able to work with little supervision and direction
  • Proven experience with Ansible/Python automation

  • Bachelor's degree in Computers or Electronics with 10+ Years of Networking Experience
  • CCNA or CCNP or CCIE Certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of QoS configurations to support the WAN and enterprise standards.
  • Strong experience in installing Cisco Routers/Switches in the field
  • Expert understanding of the following: MPLS, OSPF, BGP, Spanning Tree, HSRP, QoS, IP Telephony
  • Strong understanding of the following layer 2 switching protocols: Spanning Tree, Trunking, Etherchannel
  • Strong familiarity with the following WAN technologies: Carrier provided MPLS VPN connectivity, optical transport solutions such as OC3, OC12, OC48, DWDM, and Ethernet WAN solutions.
  • Python/Ansible scripting experience a plus
Job Expectations:
  • Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Provide technical support and consultation associated with all network systems. Execute changes into the above environments via the WF change control process outside of business hours, assist on mitigating risk for the enterprise by proactively addressing capacity problems or system related issues, participate in enterprise level projects from an engineering perspective and responsible for Design, implementing, testing, and researching industry best practices.
  • Develops specifications for large complex network systems and test voice and/or data communications solutions. Designs complex system upgrades. Leads the evaluation of vendor proposals, conducts network studies and traffic analyses, develops network architectures, prepares forecasts of network traffic and capacity, and recommends modifications to the network configurations that reduce costs or improve service. This team member serves as a high level technical resource, on large-scale voice and/or data communications issues.
  • Responsible for reviewing each change to ensure they meet all processes and standards. The lead engineer's will be knowledgeable of all changes within their assigned ASAM, branch and access space.
  • The lead engineer will work with the PRM (Product Relationship Manager) and Service Delivery Teams to ensure the technical needs of the LOB are being met. They will hold standing meetings with contacts from the LOB that they are assigned to. The Lead Engineers will work closely with the PRM's to understand any new initiatives that may be in the planning stages or moving forward.
  • Identify engineers having issues on changes or with projects and work with them to ensure success. Provide knowledge transfer on upcoming technologies, projects and solutions.
  • The Lead Engineer will provide updates on major projects within the LOB that he/she is mapped to. It is also the responsibility of the Lead Engineer to stay abreast of tasks within the Specialized Service team for LOB projects and initiatives.
  • Promote/facilitate change in the organization via the development and promotion of policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Responsible for being the lead network engineer for complex projects in the retail and admin areas of the Wells Fargo Network.
