Job Description

A Lead Mechanical role for wind turbine installation involves supervising mechanical installation teams, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards, and troubleshooting complex issues. Key responsibilities include planning installation operations, coordinating with other teams and subcontractors, performing final mechanical checks, and mentoring junior technicians. The role requires a strong understanding of turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, along with leadership skills.
Key responsibilities

• Lead installation: Supervise and coordinate on-site installation teams for the mechanical assembly of wind turbines, ensuring work is performed according to technical specifications.
• Ensure safety and quality: Implement and enforce safety protocols, including Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and conduct quality control checks throughout the installation process.
• Technical oversight: Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions that arise during installation or commissioning.
• Planning and coordination: Develop detailed installation plans, manage schedules, and coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Mentorship: Provide technical training and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
• Documentation: Document all maintenance and installation activities, generate reports on performance, and manage necessary records.

Required skills and qualifications

• Proven experience in wind turbine installation and maintenance.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in wind turbines.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and procedures.
• Proficiency in safety procedures such as LOTO and confined space entry.
