Job Description

Reports To: CE Team Leader

Job Purpose: Develop designs, layouts, and drawings in support of the platform objectives for new product development, current product improvements, current product maintenance, quality improvement, cost reductions, design and manufacturing issue resolution support. Support the execution of project plans and schedule consistent with meeting product line objectives.

3. Job Responsibilities:

Proficient in mechanical engineering design, with emphasis on structural, Sheetmetal, and surface modeling of plastic components

Execute moderate to high complex engineering designs (complexity in terms of design features, manufacturing process, tolerances, material etc.) with limited guidance.

Effective and clear communication via design reviews of concepts to foster detailed discussions to reach conclusions.

Work effectively with Cross Functional Team (CFT) - manufacturing, sourcing, supplier quality, supplier, to ensure designs are meeting all set engineering requirements

Sound understanding of different manufacturing processes and in particular desire to have good understanding of material selection.

3D layout designing with master model vehicle environment in TcAE and will follow all workflow, release and baseline processes

Create quality, error free drawings and maintain a mutually acceptable of quality rating.

Use good technical drawing practice to create new drawings with complete part and/or assembly definition.

5. Qualification, Age and Experience:

Education

BE/BTech/BS or ME/MTech/MS in Mechanical / Agricultural Engineering equivalent

Professional Qualification

Experience

8 to 12 years of experience in off highway equipment design. Preferred construction equipment experience (Backhoe Loader. Skid Steer Loader, Wheel Loader)

Technical skills: Basics of all construction equipment systems, including technical drawings, materials, manufacturing technologies with focus on mechanical systems/layouts

Sound exposure of working closely with supplier in design releases

Advanced CAD 3D user (Team Center, VisMockup and Creo preferred)

Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

6. Other Information: Preferred candidate with experience who can work with very minimum guidance/ can work independently and can communicate with global teams.
