About the Role Cybersecurity (CS) has a new opportunity in the App and Web Security Logging team to work on Splunk development and incident management for the security events logging function in compliance with Information Security Control Requirements. We are seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to work with lines of business and technology teams to ensure compliance with Information Security Control Requirements. Responsibilities : Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications. . Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure security. . Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals. . Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future. . Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure security solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors. Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices. . Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements. . Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success. . Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results. Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. Interact with customer and vendor. . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop actionable reports and dashboards for key stakeholders . Interact with end users to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and provide assistance with creation of Splunk search queries and dashboards. . Develop comprehensive process documentation, outlining step-by-step procedures, guidelines, and best practices . Proficient in Splunk Processing Language (SPL). . Proficient in SQL and Python for data manipulation and scripting. Required Qualifications/Skills Minimum 10 years of experience in IT / Information Security Engineering B.Tech /B.E. in any specialization or Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Systems Developing dashboards and reports in Splunk. Creating alerts and lookups in Splunk. Creating and changing queries in KV store. Managing Splunk knowledge objects. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames Desired Qualifications Splunk Query Language SPL Proficiency : Strong understanding of Splunk\'s search processing language is essential for developing effective queries to interact with KV store. Explain the basic structure of Splunk query in SPL . What are the essential components that make up SPL query - Explain the purpose of the index and source fields in Splunk and how they are used in SPL queries. Search Command Filters and Conditions Transforming Commands Fields and Values like aggregate, group or calculate Eval Command Sorting and limiting results Visualization command e.g., time chart, chart Time Range Final Output Data Modeling : Knowledge of data modeling concepts helps in designing efficient data structures within KV stores to support query optimization. Indexing Strategies : Understanding how data is indexed and stored in Splunk, along with indexing best practices, enables you to construct queries that retrieve data accurately and swiftly.
