Job Description


Role Responsibilities

The role will work closely with and report to Head E2E Cost Management (P2P GPO). The role will support building and executing a framework for Finance to run standardised, efficient and well controlled process relating to cost across Standard Chartered. The role should help identify process issues (such as anomalies / exceptions, inefficiencies, control gaps) and suggest solutions to fix them. The role should also help identify continuous improvement opportunities with an endeavour to establish best-in-class cost processes. The role should also be able to define metrics for measuring progress and success for process excellence.

Strategy

Developing and maintaining the strategy for the end to end cost processes, and integrating this with the overall Finance Strategy, with a mid-long term horizon:

  • Maintaining knowledge and insight into management of similar processes in comparable institutions, ensuring that suitable benchmarks are maintained for the effectiveness of each process and its cost
  • Building a clear perspective on how advances in technology will affect or enable the delivery of the process (for example, how robotics and AI will work within the process, and the implications for people, data and systems)
  • Identifying the appropriate location strategy for the process, including which elements of the process will be managed from central locations, which will be decentralised, and the allowable variations to cater for specific local requirements
  • Specifying the future technology and data roadmap for the process, and negotiating appropriate investment spend
  • Collaborating with CFOs and GPOs to establish a complete strategy for Finance Operations across all major Finance processes
Change and Transformation:
  • Support the ongoing transformation efforts, and especially centrally driven initiatives
  • Partner with P2P Leadership team, CFO teams and Aspire to deliver on TOM & process transformation agendas
  • Leverage business process service management tools such as ARIS, ServiceNow, Power BI and in-house work-force management tools to fast-track converting opportunities into solutions and their implementation
Metrics & Measurement:
  • Developing process framework, defining key metrics covering quality, timelines, efficiency, cost, voice of customer and continuous improvement to effectively manage people and process performance and outcomes.
  • Manage the periodic central consolidation and governance and operating rigor to measure the metrics and measurements
  • Develop and drive robust measures and metrics to effectively manage the cost processes
People and Talent
  • Managing talent recruitments, retention and development needed to meet the people element of overall strategy for the process
Others
  • Contributing to the effectiveness of the team by utilizing interpersonal skills to work with various finance and other cross functional members
  • Leverage process/domain expertise to identify opportunities for quality & process design improvement
Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Proven leader of transformational change who is able to inspire and motivate teams
  • Certification such as Lean Six Sigma preferred
