The Opportunity: Responsible for day-to-day RTR processes (accounting for various processes including Fixed Assets / Deferred Revenue / Intercompany / Professional Services/Contra/Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Bank/Treasury/Payroll/Pension/Direct Tax/VAT, etc.), ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work/reports. Supervise and support service delivery of Record to Report (RTR) processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of work/reports. Assist the team lead to drive process improvement initiatives and projects. Manage training and mentoring of team. Support coordination with other functions (including leadership) as well as Global Process Owners within a Shared Service Center (SSC). You are great at:
Review monthly / quarterly balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations
Perform Quality Assurance (QA) of journal entries and provide justification for QAs conducted
Ensure team is compliant with internal accounting policies while posting journal entries
Review preparation of monthly reports and rectify any identified anomalies. Report and track high risk / critical items in a timely manner
Supervise and coordinate the audit process (Internal Audits, SOX Audit, Local Statutory Audit, External (Process & Systems): coordination of documentation support and providing necessary explanations
Review analysis of transactional accounting information to support decision making.
Ensure customer issues related to RTR are resolved in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with various statutes and control parameters (identify risks and address the same with mitigating controls including SOX).
Typically, the first escalation point of contact for complex systems or policy issues related to RTR processes
Supervise and follow up that all reporting activities are executed timely, accurately and with the required quality and ensure compliance to SOX
Assist in development of standard SSC finance documents and reports
Report the KPIs / SLA\xe2\x80\x99s to the management / employees (Ad-hoc and MIS Reporting) and deliver Service Management Framework
Ensure performance measures are met or exceeded in order to drive performance and process efficiencies
Provide decision support to management and participate in critical projects
Protect organisation\'s value by keeping information confidential
Ensure knowledge and expertise is maintained, developed and exchanged within the team (including cross-training within the team).
What it takes:
Accounting qualifications 6-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience will be an added advantage (CA, CPA, ACCA)
Non-qualified accountants with 10-14 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience matching experience may also please apply
Experience of working in a RTR function (Fixed Assets Accounting / Revenue Accounting / General Accounting)
Direct relevant experience of working in a Captive SSC / Business Process Outsourcing Organisations will be desired (in addition to years of experience / qualification)
Strong domain knowledge and understanding of Record to Report Process (various processes including Fixed Assets, Deferred Revenue, Professional Services, Intercompany, Contra, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank / Treasury, Payroll / Pension, Direct Tax, VAT, etc.)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) / US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) Accounting
Strong knowledge of operation of control frameworks such as SoX
Strong experience of finance & accounting systems (SAP, Netsuite, Assurenet etc.)
Flexibility to support different time-zones and geographies
Flexibility to travel across geographies.
Experience of managing transition of RTR processes from different geographies
Process improvement ideas for effective task management within deadlines, in shared service environment
