The person will need to support entire Teradata estate – Production, DR and Development environments through lifecycle. This role is required to be part of Teradata DBA team and is required to work in shifts (APAC/EMEA). This person will be based out of Pune and He/She will engage with Build the Bank, Run the Bank, Business Users and Infrastructure teams to ensure Stability & Availability of the application and Quality & Timeliness of the data to business. Ensure day to day operation and governance of the application to meet all Barclays technology standards. What will you be doing?

  • Leading Day-to-day, Support to Teradata Environments and Business application team.
  • Barclays IPC Management (Incident/Problem/Change)
  • Adherence to Barclays standards for change control, database security and database patterns, adhering to bank’s governance and control procedures.
  • Rotational On Call Support as per Rota
  • Business communication and Stake Holder Management
  • Able to clearly communicate complex technical issues to a wide audience.
  • Analysis of re-occurring incidents and identify service improvements where possible.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – team player and able to mentor junior members of the team
  • Be able to work closely with App RTB and BTB.

  • Good communication skills for Stakeholder engagements
  • Teradata Database administration using different tools and utilities
  • Performance Monitoring through Teradata Viewpoint
  • Performance improvement by identifying poor queries
  • Development & Testing of simple, medium & complex SQL queries to meet the Business requirements
  • BAR administration through DSA, NetBackup and Mainframe JCLs
  • Development/Modification of Macro, Stored Procedure
  • Workload monitoring through Teradata Viewpoint
  • Technical Service Improvement and Capacity planning
  • Alert set up for Teradata Viewpoint, Housekeeping and BAR jobs
  • Teradata Loading utilities
  • ETL and Reporting process knowledge
  • QueryGrid and Different Compression methods in Teradata
  • Experience in working with Teradata Global Support
  • Ready to support On calls on weekdays/weekends.
Skills that will help you in the role
  • Teradata Certifications
  • Good to have knowledge on Mainframe Jobs, TWS Scheduler
  • Knowledge or Working experience on AWS Services
  • Working experience in Rainstor
  • Working experience in Linux, Unix, AIX and Shell scripting
