Job Description

Summary As a member of the Engineering Function the candidate shall contribute to Data Capture campaigns of Steam Turbine components and convert them to drawings/models with an end objective to release for manufacturing. The candidate shall be a part of a larger team involved in reverse engineering of varied components, providing design insights and documentation for manufacturing. Roles and Responsibilities Reverse Engineering: Conduct site measurement campaigns to capture Steam Turbine component dimensions - this would include knowledge of dimension capture methods using conventional instruments, laser/portable CMM equipment. Hands on would be an added advantage though not mandatory. Preparation of component drawings, geometric tolerancing Knowledge of Drawing packages (Catia/Solid Works/equivalent), and preparation of complete BOM from data captured by reverse engineering. Providing Engineering inputs to Repair/Refurbishment/Outage jobs for Large Steam Turbines. This can involve moderate site travel at short notice. Providing Engineering Disposition on deviated findings observed during manufacturing of ST components or damage detected at site during routine outage work. A knowledge on Steam Turbine component manufacturing/construction and assembly shall be advantageous. Working with Global Engineering teams to adopt best practices in Steam Turbine Service Engineering and Supporting Product qualification, New Product Introductions, small design packages which aim to improve reliability/performance efficiency of Large Steam Turbines. Qualification Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Equivalent. Overall experience of about 8+ years in similar work area. Qualification/Knowledge in Drawing packages (Catia/Solid Works/equivalent) shall be an added advantage. Candidate should have exposure to shop/site work which specializes on Large Steam Turbine related work. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
