How You Will Contribute We are looking for a high-performing Hardware Engineer to join the High-Speed Board design team. The candidate will be involved in the design and development of Networking Platforms for our next generation carrier class networking products across the product line. This position will focus on System level design which includes development of High-speed Multilayer Boards and Complex state of the art FPGA designs. As part of a hardware development team, you will be introduced to useful tools and resources that will help you grow both professionally and personally. It is a unique opportunity to develop your engineering knowledge and skills in an environment dedicated to maintaining industry superiority. The candidate will be expected to provide basic assessment of own work including effort estimation, status reporting etc. The candidate will get enough exposure for continuous learning and development of skills in the related domain. As a Hardware designer, the candidate will be involved in the following: Board level designs including digital and analog subsections, board level hardware architecture, and component selection. Capture the detailed design with schematic entry tools; generate the BOM and netlist, etc. Provide guidance and layout/routing requirements to PCB designer through the CAD design cycle. Work with Mechanical Engineer for thermal simulations, heat sink designs etc. Bench and system level testing of new designs for verification against design specifications and corrections before release into production Complete all documentation that is required throughout the board development cycle starting from theory of operation to test specifications Communication and co-ordination with Software, Systems Engineering, System Validation, Compliance/Reliability and Manufacturing teams throughout the design and development cycle from concept through production. Attend meetings, report progress, and take technical leadership to troubleshoot and fix defects. Help investigate and collect information to resolve process or design issues found on a current design or in previous designs. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers hired into the team who may be tasked to perform some of the above duties. The Must Haves B.E./M.Tech in Electronics Engineering Minimum 8+ years doing hardware design from requirements, detailed design with schematic entry tools, PCB-CAD layout requirements definition, and prototype testing for verification/ correction to final design release. High speed board level design for Telecom and networking equipment incorporating complex FPGAs, ASICs, CPLDs, PowerPC processors, High Speed memories, High speed SerDes technologies, etc. Use of standard bench level test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol specific data pattern generator and Analyzers, and other supporting equipments Strong hardware analysis, design, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Assets Exposure to Intel processor-based Architecture and networking products. Acumen for problem solving. Ability to lead in an environment of change - flexibility, creativity, and patience Understanding of DWDM concepts, optical networks.
