Job Description

Summary GE Aerospace is an industry leader in design and manufacturing of gas turbine engines for aviation and land-based applications, with deep commitment to inventing the future of flight, safety, and technology. The company is pioneering significant advances in next generation engine technologies through its RISE program that aims to significantly reduce fuel burn and emissions, and create sustainable aviation technology. GE Aerospace Bangalore is looking for young and bright engineers in the early to mid-career phase in the field of combustion, aero-thermal or relevant propulsion sciences. This position is for combustor aero-design engineer in Advanced Technologies organization, and suitable candidate will get opportunity to lead combustion aero-design work for next generation engines, sustaining current engines\xe2\x80\x99 fleet, and next generation aero-derivative engines for Land & Marine application.

Essential Responsibilities:

Independently execute on aero design of aviation and aero-derivative gas turbine combustors, supporting overall engine development program, working in a diverse & dynamic global environment. Seamlessly communicate with stakeholders, provide insights, and propose innovative solutions to technical challenges, strategize and constantly guide less experienced team members.

Perform hi-fidelity CFD analysis to meet combustor aero performance requirements on emissions, operability, and durability. Contribute to development and improvisation of design methodologies with an intent to introduce new product design for fielded products and aero-derivative engines.

In this role you will be working with a cross-functional team to understand performance shortfalls, evaluate and propose design solutions to improve performance, execute on cleaner & sustainable technologies and provide engineering solutions to meet business needs.

Perform 2D/3D CFD (RANS & LES) modelling of aviation and aero-derivative combustors involving airflow, fuel injection and reacting flow, combustion dynamics and emissions modelling, etc, to evaluate/propose new designs and understand impact on CTQs like fuel air mixing, emissions, combustion dynamics, durability, etc in order to support new product introduction, technology maturation, or support fielded products.

Lead & demonstrate engineering problem solving and decision making through active program execution, planning, communication with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
