Job Description

The role of a Lead EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) for Wind Turbine Installation involves providing expert EHS leadership, direction, and support during all phases of wind farm construction projects, from planning to commissioning. This position is critical for ensuring compliance with all local and international EHS regulations and fostering a "Zero Harm" safety culture in a high-hazard environment.
Key Responsibilities
A Lead EHS is a primary advisor to project and site managers on EHS matters and typically handles duties such as designing and implementing EHS management systems, conducting hazard and risk assessments, and leading site inspections and audits. They also lead incident investigations and are responsible for regulatory reporting. Ensuring compliance with specialized safety programs like Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, and electrical safety is also part of the role. Other responsibilities include developing and delivering EHS training and managing environmental permits and compliance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Key requirements for this role include:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is usually necessary.
• Experience: Several years of EHS management experience, with a focus on utility-scale renewable energy (wind) construction and operations, is required.
• Technical Knowledge: Expertise in relevant EHS regulations and experience managing EHS for projects involving heavy lifting and high-voltage systems are essential.
• Certifications: While not always mandatory, certifications such as CSP, OSHA 30-Hour Construction, and advanced training in Root Cause Analysis are highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities are important.

This position often involves frequent travel to project sites and working at heights in a dynamic, high-hazard environment.
