Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant - Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is seeking an experienced Network Operations Engineer to be part of the India NOCC team at CME Group.

The NOCC is a global follow-the-sun Network Operations team based in US, UK and India and will be working in a shift pattern including public holidays and weekends. NOCC is a part of the Network Services Group (NSG) made up of a diverse range of people from varied backgrounds who each bring unique network experiences and skillsets.

The NOCC will also be working closely/supporting other vertical teams in project delivery to ensure one of the largest Exchange network infrastructures in the world is highly available, resilient, secure and reliable.

The areas of focus for this role includes Monitoring & Event Management, Incident Management, Continuous Compliance and Level 1 triage of networking. Network exposure will include (but not limited to) routing & switching, perimeter security, traffic management, packets capture analysis and WIFI technology.

You are expected to have a basic understanding of networking protocols with the ability to adopt new technologies and troubleshooting methodology (including the use of proactive and reactive tools).

This position will interface directly with internal/external customers and external suppliers/providers of network services and products. At times, they may interface with various levels of senior management; strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

The candidate must be able to work on their own and successfully in team settings in various sizes and locations. Adherence and use of standards, processes, products, templates, systems and automation tools are important to the success of the individual, the department, and the firm at large.

Responsibilities:

Monitor the network and respond to network incidents Lead in the troubleshooting of network based issues, being able to clearly analyze the problem at hand while interfacing with other departments to organize and control incident response.

Ability to work on simultaneous change implementations, with a focus on automation, documentation and collaboration with other teams.

Frequently engage in complex issues with both internal and external customers, with an emphasis on being able to analyze packet captures.

Support other vertical teams within NSG, while being able to analyze gaps in procedures and documentation.

Stay on top of emerging technologies in the network field, either through training or research, in order have the flexibility to learn and support a multivendor environment.

Constantly evaluate existing designs or processes, while not being afraid to propose and implement changes to them Identify opportunity for automation.

Incident management/resolution Perform automated regular network infrastructure audits to ensure continuous compliance with best practices and industry standards

Lead in the troubleshooting of network-based issues, being able to clearly analyze the problem at hand while interfacing with other departments to organize and control incident response

Experience in working in a network operations center.

Experience in Cisco/Arista/Juniper routing switching.

Experience in BGP/OSPF/PIM/IGMP

Experience with network security technologies such as load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, authentication services

Experience in network packets analysis using Wireshark.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Proficiency in configuring and managing networking devices, including routers, switches

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with our lines of business and internal teams.

Exposure in Cloud networking (e.g. GCP or AWS)

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent, would be a highly desirable.
