Job Title: Lead Backend Test Automation Engineer - OMS & Kafka
Designation: Lead II - Software Testing
Location: Trivandrum
Shift: UK Timings
Experience: 8+ years (Senior Tester / Lead QE)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Automation Tester / Backend QE (8+ years) with strong expertise in backend automation testing for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java, Order Management Systems (OMS), Kafka, and event-driven architectures. You will be responsible for testing microservices APIs (REST & GraphQL), building automation frameworks, and working in modern DevOps environments leveraging Docker, BDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend automation frameworks using Java and Spring.
Test microservices APIs (REST & GraphQL) with focus on scalability and performance.
Collaborate with product, development, and DevOps teams to ensure end-to-end quality.
Validate and test Order Management System (OMS) workflows and integrations.
Perform validation and troubleshooting for Kafka-based event-driven architectures.
Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, continuous releases.
Contribute to test planning, defect management, and reporting.
Work independently in scenarios with limited documentation, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Mandatory Skills
8+ years of experience in automation testing with focus on backend systems.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Java automation testing and Spring framework.
Expertise in Order Management Systems (OMS) testing.
Proficiency in testing Kafka and event-driven architectures.
Strong experience in API testing (REST & GraphQL).
Good to Have
Experience with Git for version control.
Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
Familiarity with Docker, BDD frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
