Job Description


Responsibilities:
Designation: Lead Actuarial Analyst
Years of Experience: 5+ to 8 yrs

Lead actuarial analyst is expected to work independently with the home office counterparts. The person is also expected to be an and SME on one or more technical areas and also to guide and mentor junior members in the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical: Familiarity with the US DB pension space, including but not limited to:
    • Funding valuations
    • Accounting valuations
    • Regulatory filing requirements
    • Anticipating and preparing consulting scenarios based on regulatory results and other events.
    • Understanding regulatory framework and keeping up to speed with ongoing changes to the US defined benefits space.
    • Supporting DB related processes
  • Communication:
    • Presenting results to the Actuaries.
Preparing conversations around consulting opportunities to increase participation in special projects for clients.
  • Keeping stakeholders informed on progress for all projects.
  • Educating the team on new industry developments
  • Workflow Management:
    • Ability to estimate future workload capacity.
    • Raising requests for work in lieu of above.
    • Following-up on outstanding queries, escalate for support in a timely manner.
  • Teamwork:
    • Brainstorming with colleagues to come up with innovative solutions.
Prepare plan and execute the same.
  • Volunteering to support team by picking up additional workload.
  • Providing support to newer hires.

    • Continuous growth:
      • Developing a comprehensive understanding of business tools. Volunteer for testing and troubleshooting.
      • Keeping up to speed with changes in regulatory environment and changes in technology.
      • Growing skill sets to develop and own tools.

Process:

  • Comply with PGS / BU specific practices

  • Provide Support to Manager. Mitigate technical, functional and people related risks

  • Technical mentorship

  • Build actuarial expertise.

  • Be an SME in one or more areas like valuation/pricing/reserving/risk management.

  • Lead Community actuarial analysts and senior analysts.

  • Contribute towards BU maturity in actuarial credentials and technical areas.


Qualifications:
Must Have

Education: GraduateBachelors degree (any stream)

Other:
  • Sound technical skills, high aptitude, positive attitude, strong inter-personal skills, good experience in estimation methodologies, excellent communication and time management skills required. Good English communication
