Position Title: Laboratory Manager - Physics School: School of Arts and Sciences Reporting to: Associate Dean, Sciences About the School:
The School of Arts and Sciences at Ahmedabad University currently operates in all fields of Physics. https://ahduni.edu.in/majors/physics/
Along with Physics, the School of Arts and Sciences have divisions in Humanities and Languages, Mathematics, Performing and Visual Arts, Social Sciences and Biology and Life Sciences. Role Summary:
Involved in setting up the labs from the scratch and conducting lab courses of Physics. This is a full time position with work load of 9 hours per day (45 hours per week) Responsibilities:

• Identifying key components for the development of the physics teaching labs.
• Procurement of the instruments, tools, and consumables for the physics teaching and research labs.
• Design and setting up of the physics teaching and research labs.
• Handling all lab instruments and making sure they are in working condition.
• Procurement, as and when required, and arranging meetings for procurement and helping faculty in setting up the teaching labs for their respective course.
• Taking care of bills and payments for the products received.
• Receiving products and handing it over properly to the concerned faculty.
• Safety assessment.
• Helping faculties develop ENABLE courses – In Physics, faculties have plans to develop or transform some of the theory courses into ENABLE courses. This will require considerable amount of planning and effort. The lab manager can help course faculty in identifying and procuring instruments and tools required for the course. She/He will assist the faculty for in-class demonstrations of these instruments, as and when required. Lab manager will ensure that the experimental setup is ready before the class and that after class demo it is safely kept in the lab.
• Maintenance and upkeep of the physics teaching and research lab instruments.

Key Skills:
Trained Laboratory Manager for managing Physics teaching and research labs and assisting with lab courses are required. Prior experience of assisting in or teaching undergraduate laboratory courses of Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics and Electronics will be preferred but not mandatory. Qualification:
Master’s Degree in Physics with minimum 60 % marks from a recognized University. Application procedure:
