Job Description


  • Managing inventories: Checking food supplies and kitchen equipment, and negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Developing marketing strategies: Researching food trends, updating menus, and creating financial reports
  • Planning menus: Purchasing ingredients and supplies, and training line cooks
  • Supervising kitchen staff: Hiring, training, scheduling, and performing reviews
  • Ensuring food safety: Ensuring all kitchen staff are properly trained and following food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly: Cleaning equipment, checking supplies, and rotating food stock
  • Monitoring temperatures: Ensuring food quality and timeliness, and ensuring food service and quality control
  • Ensuring kitchen is clean and organized: Providing information about deli food attributes, ingredients, and preparation
