Job Description

Assisting with ingredient preparation:

This includes tasks like washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing fruits, vegetables, and other food items.
Cleaning and Maintenance:

Dishwashing and sanitizing:

This involves washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using a dishwasher.

Maintaining a clean kitchen:

This includes cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, floors, and equipment, as well as emptying trash and recycling.

Organizing and stocking:

Kitchen helpers help organize and stock supplies, ingredients, and equipment, ensuring everything is in its proper place.
Other Duties:

Receiving and storing deliveries:

They may help unload deliveries, unpack items, and store food and supplies according to safety and hygiene standards.

Following food safety and hygiene guidelines:

Kitchen helpers are expected to adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses.

Assisting with other tasks as needed:

This may include tasks like assisting with plating dishes, serving food, or helping with other duties as assigned by the kitchen management.

Working as part of a team:

Kitchen helpers work closely with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Preparing food for cooking:

Kitchen helpers may assist with measuring ingredients, mixing items for salads, or portioning food for packaging.

Following recipes and instructions:

They may assist cooks and chefs in following recipes and instructions for food preparation.
