The Position
In the position of Junior Database Administrator, you will join the Diagnostic Product IT Center of Enablement team and will be part of the DBA-Ops team.
The job is part of a small, but quickly growing and highly agile team of engineers who are focused on supporting and evaluating databases for analytics platform. This platform is built up having a base of data warehouse of popular RDMS, as well as cloud providers like AWS. Currently in a medium level, it is intended to scale to very large numbers of data around the world in medical institutions like laboratories, hospitals and more. As such, it strives to accelerate and simplify the digitalization of the health-care industry, ultimately resulting in
quicker innovation for patients.

As a Junior Database Administrator Engineer, you will:

• Monitor the database clusters hosted in different regions
• Work on tickets adhere to SLA’s
• Finding out RCA for issues and raising incident if required
• Create and maintain database documents
• Hands on experience with one of the technology VERTICA/ORACLE/Postgres/Redshift
• Good to have Scripting knowledge

You have a University degree in computer science, engineering, or other related fields, or equivalent experience. You bring experience working in a multicultural environment and proven cultural awareness. You have extensive experience with ticket handling, RCA findings and monitoring large clusters
of databases having a do it attitude towards challenges
Job-related Experience

• 1-3 years experience on large-scale production database clusters having an

operational mindset

• 2+ years of experience in VERTICA/ORACLE/Postgres database
• Good to have public cloud providers experience (preferably AWS)

Furthermore, you bring:

• Very good interpersonal skills, a team player attitude and mindset, and you like bringing

others up to speed on technology

• Ability to take ownership and be effective with limited supervision
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

simultaneously

• In-depth understanding of RDBMS Concepts
• In-depth understanding of the Linux operating system
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts
• Knowledge of Tools like (Zendesk,JIRA,VMC,CheckMK or any similar)
• Knowledge of cluster management and installations
• Good to have knowledge of Python, Java or any other programming language
