Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Jira Specialist with deep expertise in automation, integrations, and Atlassian migrations. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to design scalable Jira configurations, build advanced automation solutions, develop custom integrations, and support enterprise-level migration and reporting initiatives. This role requires strong technical capability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in complex, multi-project environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize Jira workflows, custom fields, screens, permissions, and schemes.
• Build advanced automations using JMWE, JSU, ScriptRunner, and Automation for Jira.
• Develop low-code and scripted automation solutions leveraging Jira REST APIs.
• Implement custom integrations and migrate logic from legacy systems (e.g., ETracks).
• Support backward and forward porting processes for long-term maintenance cycles.
• Ensure configuration consistency and governance across multiple Jira projects at enterprise scale.
• Build dynamic dashboards, reports, and metrics using JQL, Rich Filters, and automation triggers.
• Use Python, SQL, GitHub Copilot, and LLMs to streamline development, testing, and validation of configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver scalable Jira solutions.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong experience in Jira Administration and broader Atlassian ecosystem.
• Expertise with Automation for Jira, JMWE, JSU, ScriptRunner, and Jira REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Python (Azure Functions experience preferred).
• Proficiency in SQL for reporting and integration workflows.
• Familiarity with AI-based development tools like GitHub Copilot and LLMs.
• Understanding of integration patterns, data mapping, and migration best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale Jira migrations or enterprise configuration governance.
• Knowledge of Confluence, Bitbucket, or other Atlassian tools.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based automation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
