The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Develop our technical strategy and architecture using modern distributed application software, tools and techniques
  • Design our technology applications holistically and continuously improve our technical efficiency and make changes as necessary
  • Communicate technology strategy, architecture, and regular status reporting
  • Drive the Container adoption strategy for Intra Day Liquidity Technology
Business
  • Have a good understanding of Intraday Liquidity management and its importance for Financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of bank statements, swift MT messages, Real time payments, XML messaging formats is a definite advantage.
  • Knowledge of reconciliations between ledgers and bank statements, real time reporting requirements.
  • Any knowledge on SAP products and particularly SAP-LMS (Liquidity Management Solution) would be a definite advantage.
Processes
  • Align to Standard Chartered delivery processes of software delivery framework and keep high standard for change management practice.
  • Create process to reduce product time-to-market by embracing automation in the delivery lifecycle
  • Responsible for the overall system development life cycle, and the delivery of high-quality software, using appropriate techniques such as TDD and/or DDD to deliver maintainable code which is fully integrated into a Continuous Integration & Delivery cycle
People and Talent
  • Provide technical guidance and direction, as well as hands-on resource management for all software development activities
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing our high performing engineers
  • Play a leading role in interviewing and supporting hiring new engineers
  • Leveraging the Engineering Career Path, develop members of the Liquidity Engineering team towards Distinguished Engineer and Enterprise Engineer status.
Risk Management
  • Highlight emerging risks to planned delivery upfront to ensure sufficient measures can be taken
  • Inform all stakeholders appropriately only risk / issues / challenges
Governance
  • Establish good governance process in the team to ensure quality delivery.
  • Ensure minimal release rollbacks, minimum post release production issues
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Treasury Services, Treasury markets, GCFO, ITO - PSS
Other Responsibilities
  • At least 8 years development experience using Java, spring and hibernate
  • Experience in people management, leading a team remotely, managing the annual performance appraisals for the team.
  • Flexibility to deliver in both Agile & Waterfall methodology
  • Experience working in a banking I.T. team preferred
  • Knowledge of Intra Day Liquidity, and Balance Sheet Management would be a definite advantage
  • Knowledge of bank statements, swift MT messages, Real time payments, XML messaging formats is a definite advantage.

  • Experience in delivering successful modern distributed applications
  • Deep knowledge of current technological trends, frontend, backend, data, cloud native applications
  • Hands-on development experience in all our technology choices
  • Knowledge of system design and development of web, backend, database, integration, machine learning, cloud, containers, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experienced in delivering successful agile projects
  • Ability to conduct technological analyses and research, code-reviews, guidance
  • Ability to communicate with all teams on technology
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Java Development: Core Java, Multithreading, Collections, JMS, Hibernate & Spring, Apache Camel, Java Web Technologies: JSP, JSON/XML (XSLT, XSD, XQuery)
  • Front end Development: React.js, Webpack, Redux, and Flux
  • Application Server: JBOSS server, Tomcat
  • Database: Oracle architecture, SQL, SAP HANA.
  • Middleware: IBM MQ, AMQP, Topic, Solace, ActiveMQ
  • IDE: Eclipse
  • Operating System: Linux with shell scripting, Windows
  • Repository: GIT & SVN
  • Build tool: Maven
  • Deployment: Jenkins & Docker
