Perform Database support for Databases across Amadeus sites.
Installation, configuration and upgrading of MariaDB software and related products.
Provide Operational support and technical assistance as required.
Ensure PCI Compliance for Database responsible /accountable for.
Main Responsibilities
Active involvement in change initiation, preparation, coordination and implementation to the test and production systems.
Own and co-ordinate all operational changes and ensure successful implementation with impact.
Participate in Amadeus technical projects in close cooperation with Development and relevant groups within Amadeus.
End to end problem ownership - own Problem Tracking Records, track progress and chase appropriately; aid where necessary and able in their investigation and resolution, making sure solutions are implemented as agreed.
Chair & minute Problem Management Review meetings, and then track Problem Management Review action items and own the problem records, making sure action items are implemented as agreed.
Ensure the highest quality of operations procedures is maintained.
Participate in incident and problem prevention activities.
Active involvement in major incidents (troubleshooting, including on-call where necessary).
Propose changes to fix problems and improve processes, seeking assistance when needed.
Interface to other teams in Operations, Development and Service Desk.
Act as primary interface to vendors
Follow relevant developments within the IT industry
DB Cloning, DB migration, DB Upgrade, patch management and movement. Excellent knowledge on data migration including data pump.
Resolves DB issues raised by developers in timely manner.
Assist developers in Query/Performance/Database tuning.
Strong database knowledge in terms of DB functions and troubleshooting.
Administering and monitoring of databases and provide first-hand support for Database.
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Own and provide solutions to Database design and implementation
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
Perform database/application tuning and performance monitoring
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
Work as part of a team/individual and provide 5x24 support when required
Perform general trouble shooting and provide technical consultation to development teams Interface with Vendors for technical support.
Patch Management and Version Control.
PCI Compliance - Ensure PCI compliancy and participate in PCI audits.
Automation of day to day activities for better efficiency.
DB certification will be an added advantage.
Below skills will be an added advantage.
o Automation tools like Ansible or equivalent is preferred. o Knowledge about elements below would be a plus: ? Cloud (Azure) ? Kubernetes, Openshift ? Docker/Podman

Experience of working in Production Support Environment
Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering or a technical support role, with exposure to Linux, preferably on highly available, mission critical applications and platforms
Experience in Wintel/VMware technologies and components Experience in infrastructure components such as computer, networking, virtualization, Experience in Server hardware (Hp,IBM,Dell,CISCO) Experience in Server Life cycle. Experience with Windows, VMware and Nuanix technologies. Experience with configuration management, OneView and automation technologies such as PowerShell, etc.
