Job Description

Resource will be on the Wintel/VMware Operations team which supports VMware Operations with a focus on Microsoft Windows, VMWare ESXi and vCenter. A successful candidate will have the ability to deploy and troubleshoot a mixture of physical and virtual infrastructure delivery tasks as assigned. Within the Server Operations Team, you will help design and operationalize services to support the agile growth in our Microsoft Windows and VMWare product offerings. You will partner with the VMWare Stability and Engineering team during all phases of the VMWare ESXi lifecycle to support design and operational methods. You will fulfill a cross-functional role by driving operational stability and performance enhancements to the supported infrastructure. You\'ll collaborate with other system administrators and engineers to pave the way for the next generation private cloud environment - moving beyond traditional practices and enhancing our customer experience. You have a passion for systems engineering, operational stability, monitoring, automation and defined networks.

Responsibilities

Engagement & Project Overview At least L2 support experience required (5 - 7 Years)

• Responsible for the effective operations on Microsoft Windows and VMWare production systems
• Primary contribution involves being responsible for vSphere ESXi, vCenter Server and Microsoft Windows OS, Clustering solutions such as SQL AON, Microsoft Clustering etc. administration and support.
• Provides hardware/operational support across Windows, VMWare server and virtual appliances
• Utilize VMware VRLI to diagnose and improve performance in the virtual infrastructure
• Utilize VMware vROPs and reporting for confirmation, troubleshooting, and capacity planning
• Improving customized provisioning using vRA, and vRO to automate and simplify tasks
• Understanding of configuring, troubleshooting, and administering IT server virtualization and networking
• On-call/off hours work will occasionally be required
• Well versed with ITIL concepts such as Incident, Change and Problem Management
• Ongoing support of our physical server and internal cloud platform to ensure superior customer experience
• Participate in internal projects that help scale the environment, help implement best practices, and improve our overall methodology of operational support
• Assure 24/7/365 systems availability for our Windows and VMWare platform
