About the department The position is based in the GBS Bangalore Department - IT Operations and IT Asset Management, part of Global IT Operations (GITO) - a department with 400+ employees distributed across more than 25 countries, managing our IT Infra compliance, Cloud Services, Infrastructure Services, Operations, IT Support, Major Incident Management and Digital Workplace Services. The IT Operations and IT Asset Management is an area consisting of internal and external teams, with highly skilled and dedicated employees, supporting IT Operations and IT Asset management across all GBS units in Bangalore. The Position As Department Manager, you will be managing team of 20+ employees and attract, develop, and retain talent in the department with a strong focus of having an agile & growth mind. You will be analysing information and processes and developing more effective or efficient processes and strategies. It will be expected of you to empower and delegate employee\'s responsibilities and track their accountabilities and share regular feedback. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and infrastructure, managing our IT assets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in GBS. You will be heading a department that manages daily operations of the IT, including the planning and implementation of IT projects, policies, and procedures, maintains IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, storage devices, and other related hardware and software, manages the IT asset inventory and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Your key area of responsibility will be: Managing the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the department. You will ensure realisation of the Global IT Support product area strategy for GBS and support innovative initiatives with significant business impact. Lead and manage the IT department, ensuring that team members are aligned with company goals and objectives. Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve IT-related issues and ensure that IT services are delivered effectively and efficiently. Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure rapid recovery in the event of a system failure. Ensure Operational excellence, process optimalization and compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. Develop and implement strategic process optimization and digitization initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity. Manage and develop the IT team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Oversee vendor relationships, including performance monitoring, and issue resolution. Qualifications Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in engineering, computer science (or equivalent). Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on managing and developing teams. Strong technical knowledge of computer systems, network infrastructure, and software development. Strong project management skills, with experience in planning and implementing IT projects. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing teams. Experience in developing and managing IT budgets. Certification in ITIL, PMP, or other related certifications is a plus.
