IT Infrastructure Automation Specialist

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Automation Specialist to lead automation initiatives across a complex IT estate. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in scripting (PowerShell, Shell, Python), IT Process Automation (ITPA), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, along with deep knowledge of system integration for technologies such as Linux, Unix, VMware, Storage, Backup, Windows, Cloud platforms, and Databases. This role focuses on driving efficiency, reducing manual effort, and enabling service improvement through automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Development & Implementation
Design and implement automation workflows for infrastructure operations using ITPA and RPA tools.
Develop scripts in PowerShell, Shell, and Python to automate routine tasks and processes.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation.
System Integration
Integrate automation solutions with IT systems across multiple technologies (Linux, Unix, VMware, Storage, Backup, Windows, Cloud, Databases).
Ensure seamless data exchange and interoperability between platforms using APIs and connectors.
Service Improvement & Innovation
Identify opportunities for automation to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Drive innovation initiatives by introducing new tools and frameworks for infrastructure automation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and optimize workflows.
Problem Management & Governance
Participate in root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement automated preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with security and governance standards in automation solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong scripting skills: PowerShell, Shell scripting, Python.
Hands-on experience with ITPA tools (e.g., ServiceNow Orchestration, BMC Atrium Orchestrator) and RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere).
Deep understanding of IT infrastructure technologies: Linux, Unix, VMware, Storage, Backup, Windows, Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and Databases.
Knowledge of system integration techniques (APIs, connectors, orchestration frameworks).
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline development.
