Job Description

Intersystems Interface Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical interfaces using InterSystems technologies, including HealthShare, Ensemble, and IRIS for Health. The role ensures secure, accurate and efficient data exchange between healthcare information systems and our own IT products, in compliance with healthcare interoperability standards.




Key Responsibilities:


Design and implement clinical interfaces using InterSystems technology platforms.


Analyze clinical data exchange requirements and define interface specifications.


Develop, test, and deploy HL7, FHIR, and IHE-based interfaces.


Configure and manage interface engines using InterSystems Ensemble or IRIS for Health.


Monitor interface performance and troubleshoot technical issues (Level 2).


Collaborate with clinical informatics, EHR vendors, and IT teams to ensure successful integration.


Maintain interface and customer related documentation, including data mapping and technical design.


Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and healthcare regulatory standards.




Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.


Minimum 3 years of experience with InterSystems technologies (Ensemble, IRIS, or HealthShare).


Strong knowledge of HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, X12, and other healthcare messaging standards.


Experience with interface development and scripting in ObjectScript and related tools.


Familiarity with clinical workflows and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).


Proven ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.




Preferred Qualifications:


InterSystems certification(s).


Experience in Cloud operated environments with RESTful APIs and Web Services.


Understanding of healthcare interoperability (e.g., IHE, HIE).
