Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Finance Internal Control Manager.

Overview and responsibilities:

The objective of this role is to drive the ongoing strengthening of financial governance, risk & internal control in Wood Central Functions including, the Shared Service centres, Group tax, Treasury, Group IT, Business systems support team and group compliance as a key business partner.

The role will be based in Gurgaon, India.

This key role:

  • Works closely with the VP of F&A Projects and the F&A Leadership team to help raise awareness of minimum financial control standards
  • Is responsible for the coordination of the Internal Financial Control Questionnaire (IFCQ), to the extent it pertains to Central functions and processes
  • Business partner with the Central teams/ BU Control Managers to ensure gaps in control are followed up and addressed
  • To lead the IFCQ testing for the group. This includes selecting key controls, devising test scripts, coordinating with control owners and carrying out testing with the help of independent testers
  • To assist with the presentation of results to the F&A leadership team - this includes presenting the control failures and the remediation plans
  • To manage a team of independent testers: It includes assisting with hiring the right talents, allocating work, reviewing deliverables, performance reviews, personal development plans etc.
  • Leads the rollout of financial policies within Shared Services providing support for the dissemination and awareness of financial policies
  • Provide training and general awareness sessions to the Shared Services teams and operational/project teams to embed policy and financial control requirements
  • Where necessary, work with the Business Grouping VPs of F&A to improve and simplify current processes and controls through automation, adoption of the target operating model, consistency of process etc.
Key Responsibilities:

Internal Financial Control
  • Overseeing the completion, reporting and follow-up of the Risk and Controls Matrix ("RACM") and Internal Financial Control Questionnaires within the BU
  • Overview of actions to prevent and clear overdue actions, including Internal Audit actions
  • Lead various internal control, process improvement and optimization efforts as directed by the VP of F&A Development, F&A Development Leadership Team or IFCQ Steering
  • Train and coach the business on financial governance, risk and control, or other related topics
  • Integrating businesses/operations into the business unit's governance, risk, and control framework to promote a global model
  • Undertake select control testing in the Shared Services environment under an agreed global testing plan
Process improvement
  • In conjunction with the Shared Services F&A leadership team develop and oversee a program of prioritized process improvement projects with clarity on the challenge, need for change, benefits and investments required
  • Identify opportunities for greater use of dashboarding and reporting through the use of PowerBI or other tools to support decision making
  • Support the program of automation improvements and process simplification opportunities across F&A processes in Shared Services
Skills / Qualifications

Qualification:
  • Part or Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with 7+ years' experience
  • Understanding of internal control framework and underlying accounting principles
Experience:
  • Experience working on an ERP system, ideally Oracle
  • High proficiency in Excel and experience in MS Office
  • Ability to work well independently
  • Excellent self-management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills essential for regular interaction with F&A team
  • Confident to challenge on issues and proactively find solutions
