The role: The Specialist, Social Media & Internal Communications will be a key contributor to building a digital-first and purpose-driven brand. This individual will elevate the employer brand for The Bay and partner with key stakeholders to increase employer brand awareness across social media platforms. In addition, this individual will work together with key stakeholders to communicate corporate objectives and maintain a world-class employee experience with the goal of developing and retaining informed, engaged, and satisfied employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and execution of internal communications strategy by working closely with various departments/teams.
  • Write and tailor engaging content for specific audiences, demonstrating a deep understanding of messaging, positioning, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop in collaboration with the Sr. Manager, HR Brand, Communication & Associate Experience effective and innovative ways to communicate company values to employees to help them understand what they stand for and how they apply to their day-to-day.
  • Assist in building internal and project-based communication strategies, draft communications, and deploy communications.
  • Execute internal communications initiatives from concept to delivery.
  • Ensure all internal communications are timely, reliable, and accessible.
  • Create social media content to ensure consistency with The Bay’s voice, tone, and editorial style.
  • Partner with Marketing and Talent Acquisition teams to build and execute The Bay employer brand social media strategy.
  • Use insights and analytics to build and grow The Bay’s social media presence.

Requirements & Skills:
  • Recent Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Software and digital media skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Analytics, Canva, Adobe Photoshop).
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms and their capabilities and restrictions.
  • Excellent writing/editing skills and a good eye for design.
  • Informed and effective communicator with a drive for excellence.
  • Able to prioritize time and workload effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Excellent ability to judge and understand motivations and drivers of key audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task with keen attention to detail on all projects.
  • Thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and accomplishing shared goals with the ability to work.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and on a tight schedule.
