Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, bake, and present a wide range of bakery items, including:
Artisan breads, croissants, buns, muffins, bagels, danishes, cakes, and specialty items.
Develop and test new recipes for bread and bakery products, ensuring taste and consistency.
Oversee daily production schedules and ensure fresh products are available.
Manage the fermentation and proofing of dough with precision.
Maintain proper storage, rotation, and inventory of baking ingredients and supplies.
Ensure bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers, etc.) is operated and maintained properly.
Supervise and train junior bakers and commis in bakery techniques and hygiene standards.
Ensure all bakery operations comply with food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP).
Monitor portion and waste control to minimize food cost.
Assist with planning and execution of seasonal or themed bakery menus and displays.
Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Baker or Bakery Chef in a professional kitchen or bakery.
Deep knowledge of baking techniques, bread fermentation, and patisserie basics.
Culinary or baking diploma/certificate from a recognized institute.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.
Good time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Physical stamina and ability to work early mornings and long hours when needed.
Creativity and passion for quality and presentation.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with gluten-free, vegan, or specialty dietary baking.
Familiarity with international and modern baking trends.
Leadership experience in managing a bakery section or small team.
