You will join our Energy Market Unit

As our new Interface Engineer in our energy unit, you will be part of a growing team with highly experienced members in Chennai. We conduct studies, FEEDs and detail engineering for major energy companies globally. Our services include offshore substations, Gas & LNG, electrification, waste-to-energy, biofuel, carbon capture, hydrogen and e-fuels. As Interface Engineer your most important role is to handle the engineering and project interfaces in the multidisciplinary project environment to ensure hassle free execution of projects.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Interface Engineer for various phases of project - FEEDs, detail engineering and follow on engineering
  • Technical interfaces between the engineering disciplines (internal / external) - Coordinate with the Engineering discipline team members to capture various Engineering interfaces, monitor, resolve and close - you pull together the engineering interfaces in a diverse environment to successfully complete major projects
  • Coordinate with the Project team members to capture various project and contractual interfaces, monitor, resolve and close - you will be supporting project manager
  • Link to plan/ planning team to ensure the interfaces are captured
  • Liaise with various external stake holders like Yard / EPC contractor / Operator / OEM / Suppliers / Licensors / Government agencies, etc. Create and maintain interface register for the purpose, review, monitor and close all points in a timely manner
  • Organize meetings with various stakeholders towards interfaces at regular intervals to review and work on actions
  • Publish interface register and status reports at regular intervals till completion of project
  • Technical requirement and scope management
  • Support in resource plan with project based hiring & optimization of resources based on utilization
  • Build good working relations to other parts of the Ramboll family and draw on full service offering of complete organization

  • Bachelor / Master of Engineering degree from recognized university
  • Minimum 8 years of Engineering & Design experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical or Chemical or process industries and include both Greenfield and Brownfield
  • Experience in offshore platforms is must
  • Experience in offshore Substations is preferred
  • Should have worked cross border in a global engineering and project environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in handling project and engineering interfaces
  • Should have worked in Engineering within EPC environment interfacing extensively with yard, operator, OEM and suppliers
  • Full understanding of what it takes to design, Engineer, analyse, and document an offshore platform according to the prevailing codes in the offshore industry, primarily within offshore wind. Green Hydrogen, PtX, Carbon capture experience are added advantage
  • Experience in project coordination and critical path management
  • Should demonstrate a proactive attitude, structured - and analytical mind set
  • Should be willing to travel as per project requirements
  • Expect working with stakeholders in multiple time zones across various continents and outside normal working hours of Chennai
