Role: Team leader
Role Description in Brief: Team leader handling product development engineers
Area of Responsibility: Handling team responsible for a product area or large platform projects
Task Details:
Regular : 1. Lead Development Engineering team / large platform projects
2. Support and enable team with respect to competency and skills
3. Track and monitor the work load vs capacity
4. Drive and influence complex topics with cross functional team
5. Represent the engineering product area at various functions / BUs / Lead Departments
1. Design and development of CC & GI products based on appropriate Requirement Engineering
2. FMEA, Design reviews, DRBFM, tolerance analysis, design calculations, analysis and reports/documentations
3. Interaction with internal and external stake holder through appropriate channel - Project centric approach
4. Planning & tracking of development phases and work package
Periodic: "1. Periodic Customer visits to ensure alignment on technical topics
2. Resolve Q issues during development stages by applying BES methodology
3. Lead and support task force activities with front loading approach
1. Liasoning with lead development departments in world-wide GS locations
2. Conceptualise innovative products
3. Risk assessment, Lesson learnt documentation & further deployment
Occasional:
1. Initiate Process efficiency improvement projects
2. Initiate RPP project & support team for quick implementation
3. Support RBU/PRM/ENG in bench marking exercise, sharing of market intelligence
Key Deliverables: 1. Meet Project results: On time, On spec. with BES Q mindset with minimal forecasted escalations
Requirements:
Experience: ~6 to 12 years
Education: BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Automobile
Competencies:
Technical : 1. High level of product development process knowledge
2. Proven records and achievement in the people handling areas
1. GD&T
2. Product development process
3. Engineering basics - mechanical / electrical
4. Basics of Material Science, Strength of Materials, Hydraulics & Plastics
5. Experience in development tools and problem solving tools (eg. FMEA, 8D, statistical anaysis, etc)
Behavioral: 1. High Customer / project centric approach, Negotiation Skills
2. Proven records and achievement in the people handling areas
3. Ability to adapt in International matrix organisation
