As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team, you'll play a big part in designing the platforms, servers, and networks that make it possible for us to provide service to our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe each and every day. In this role, you'll call on your experience designing tailored solutions to understand the requirements of a project, test the performance of the infrastructure, and verify that the requirements have been successfully met. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (program management, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)
  • Knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and basic programming languages or database management systems (Java, PERL, Python)
  • Intermediate understanding of line of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design
  • Knowledge of more than one specific infrastructure technology
  • Ability to think creatively to deliver solutions through continuous improvement
- DevOps (7 to 11 years of experience)

We are looking for an experienced, highly-motivated, individual-contributor and team player software engineer with background in Linux System Administration, DevOps and Automation to help us migrate and manage our trade application from legacy datacenter to more modern strategic datacenter. In this role, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance and monitoring of our applications deployed on RHEL 7/8 systems. You will be setting up everything from scratch in new datacenter along with providing support in legacy datacenter. In this role, you will troubleshoot web server errors, application errors, build pipeline error, OPs user issues. You will setup Jenkins build-pipe line from scratch using our internal tools and be responsible for scheduling pre-defined and ad-hoc builds. Further, you will provide fixes and next-set-of-actions for the issues and be able to carry out some of them and/or involve/collaborate with the other teams to address the issue in timely fashion. To ensure success in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Linux OS, DevOps tools & processes, have some development skills and should showcase excellent troubleshooting, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Understand our internal legacy and strategic datacenter requirements, limitations and migration process
  • Understand the various tools available in JPMC to help analyze and manage infrastructure and software components including procurement
  • Understand the various tools and processes available in JPMC to help engage and collaborate with different teams for getting required work done including raising appropriate tickets
  • Setup and configure application/server software and apply project-specific changes
  • Recognizes and troubleshoot problems with OS processes, storage, file permission, SSL/TLS certificate issues.
  • Recognizes and troubleshoot application/server startup and runtime Issues
  • Analyze diagnostics of applications, system and vendor software
  • Understand upstream and downstream partner connectivity requirements and perform necessary actions to setup/maintain the connectivity
  • Troubleshoot partner connectivity issues and provide fix for them
  • Understand CI/CD solutions available with JPMC and Integration between them to achieve fully automated CI/CD process
  • Create and maintain Jenkins build pipeline from scratch and troubleshoot and rectify build pipeline issues
  • Schedule automated build and deployment and execute ad-hoc build request by AD team
  • Understand internal cloud computing products and CI/CD solutions and based on criteria and recommendations, help migrating to internal cloud solution including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Bit-bucket (GIT) assistance, monitoring and management
  • Contribute and assist AD team in developing application functional deliveries
  • Contribute and assist DBA team in database related activities
  • Connect with other teams for dependencies and collaborate to achieve the end result
  • Perform software technology refreshes, ensuring compliance with tight timelines
  • Contribute in estimation, planning and scheduling of tasks
  • Create high quality and up-to-date documentations of system/application/tools/project analysis, execution, risks and statuses
  • Self-assign tasks and be able to track and optimize it, in addition to already assigned tasks
Requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of UNIX/LINUX principles and hands-on on essential tools and command-line
  • Knowledge of how to setup up and maintain UNIX user accounts, groups and file permission
  • Knowledge of file and text search tools and commands
  • Knowledge of file editing and file manipulations tools and commands
  • Knowledge of file compression and un-compression tools and commands
  • Knowledge of process management/monitoring, file system management/monitoring and storage management/monitoring
  • Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, Load-balancing, SSL/TSL Security
  • Knowledge of SSH and SFTP setup and configuration, SSL/TLS certificate creation/renewal and Java key store management
  • Knowledge of bash shell scripting, python/perl scripting and automation using them to optimize tasks and monitoring
  • Familiarity with server configuration and automation tools like Ansible
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure architecture and deployment like AWS
  • Extensive knowledge of DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with build scripts (MAVEN/ANT/Shell Script) to package components and deploy on the servers
  • Familiarity with application software (i.e. Java, Apache, Tomcat)
  • Knowledge GIT commands and branching strategies
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL queries
  • Knowledge of messaging systems like JMS
  • Be able to work in a rapid paced environment and must be able to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and quickly learn new skills and techniques
  • Previous development experience and ready to contribute in any development tasks
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice
  • Be able to provide production release support on weekends and following weekday
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
Educational Qualification

Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field with previous experience as a UNIX system administrator and DevOps Engineer
