About the Job
This position is for a candidate with a strong capability to support other Infrastructure Engineers, Systems Administrators, and technicians with incidents and requests. The Engineer drives orchestration of common infrastructure tasks across container technology stacks and will maintain strategic tasks for public and private cloud-based container infrastructure, influencing architecture and standards.
The ideal candidate will:

  • Develop and document the individual tasks required to complete project delivery
  • Manage and resolve backlogged project and support tasks
  • Complete documentation for the support and maintenance of a new service or solution
  • Drive the adoption of automation across technology stacks (Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes)
  • Participate in architecture discussions and consult peers developing a new solution design
  • Document, maintain, and drive technology-specific roadmaps (Hybrid Cloud)
  • Advise leadership on technical tasks and direction

Once Here You Will:
  • Drive department best practices, guidelines implementation and adhering to standards.
  • Partner with DevSecOps, Architecture, API, Delivery, Security organizations while building highly scalable, secure Infrastructure as code.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot production issues
  • Hands-on experience with typical project and system/customer support.
  • Deep Understanding of service design for Cloud (AWS) using Containers, Container Orchestration (like Kubernetes), Service Mesh (like Istio), Kafka
  • Experience in systems software development (java go, python, bash, ... )
  • Hands-on Experience with Ansible, writing playbooks to automate tasks, deploy artifacts
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to attain new technical skills and share knowledge with teammates

What You’ll Bring:
  • Demonstrated understanding protocols and technologies supporting a solution
  • At least 3 years’ experience engineering and supporting Kubernetes Orchestration
  • At least 3 years’ experience or equivalent knowledge managing and deploying services with a focus on containerization
  • At least 3 years’ experience with hybrid datacenter approaches for container technologies
  • Familiarity and practice managing software-defined infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of application architectures, software development tools, and methodologies. Staying current with emerging technology trends.
  • Understanding of high-level concepts across network, storage, and database technologies
  • Ability to manage scripts and code in a git-based repository
  • Ability to automate complex tasks across infrastructure components
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift frequently
  • Ability to communicate design, installation, and support of a solution through documentation
  • Strong verbal communication across audiences (such as fellow engineers, end users, and management)
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Certified Kubernetes application developer, or other relevant certification preferred
