Industrial Radiological Safety Officer (rso)
Job Description
-Monitor and enforce compliance with all relevant radiation safety regulations, guidelines, and standards issued by government authorities and international bodies. - Oversee the proper receipt, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials and sources used within the facility, ensuring adherence to proper handling procedures and safety protocols. - Conduct training sessions for employees who work with or near radioactive materials, educating them about the potential hazards, safety measures, and emergency procedures. Implement and manage radiation monitoring programs to regularly assess radiation levels in different areas of the facility and ensure they are within safe limits. - Develop and implement emergency response plans for radiation-related incidents, including procedures for containment, evacuation, and communication. - Advise on and oversee the installation of appropriate shielding materials and equipment to minimize radiation exposure. - Prepare and submit required reports to relevant regulatory authorities regarding the use, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials. - Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with radiation safety policies and make recommendations for improvements as needed. - Participate in or lead the radiation safety committee, collaborating with other stakeholders to enhance safety measures and implement best practices.
