The Indian Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation. The role includes preparing gravies, curries, breads, rice dishes, appetizers, and regional specialties as per menu requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook Indian dishes including North Indian, South Indian, Tandoor, Biryani, Curries, and Snacks as per standard recipes.
Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation.
Prepare mise-en-place and maintain proper stock for daily kitchen operations.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen as per FSSAI and hotel standards.
Follow food safety procedures, temperature control, and storage standards.
Coordinate with kitchen team for smooth service operations.
Minimize food wastage and control costs.
Handle guest food preferences, allergies, and special dietary requests.
Ensure timely food preparation during peak hours.
Assist senior chefs in menu planning and food trials when required.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Good time management and multitasking skills.
Team player with positive attitude.
Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
