Job Description

Job Purpose

Shape a positive external environment for the products under the Immunization and Inflammation, and Rare Diseases portfolio of Pfizer India.

Working on India specific access models / initiatives to ensure sustainable access programs for patients across the socio-economic landscape and ensure profitability.

Work with key senior external stakeholders primarily in (but not limited to) Regulatory / Ministry of Health, Industry Forums and Bodies etc. to protect the IP and ensure accelerated access approval, to ensure aligned product launches with Global markets.

Take key decisions pertaining to pricing and oversee successful execution of new product launches.

Identify, grow and pursue business development and licensing opportunities through external partnering / collaboration for accelerated revenue growth.

Drive and realize the business objectives consistently via designing and executing business strategy which are in line with the organization's objectives

Address changing market conditions, evaluate product portfolio to ensure top and bottom-line growth with appropriate commercial strategy

Lead a team of Sales and marketing colleagues, with the ability to collaborate and motivate a large team to perform and take on stretch goals to accomplish over-budget performance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic/policy:

Lead and develop significant growth plans of the company's Business and conceptualize the entire gamut of operations for Sales and marketing.

Responsible for achieving the revenue budget, product segment-wise budgets, maximizing sales, profitability and market growth in line with Company's strategic goals.

Contribute to profitable business initiatives by partnering with cross function of stakeholders, assist in decision making and work towards creating an enabling environment for knowledge sharing and exchange of ideas that will aid the team to deliver on set targets

Strategize uniform understanding and execution of product promotion campaigns for launch of new products or of the existing products.

Scan & Analyze market competition to identify opportunities along with overseeing the effective application and implementation of sales and marketing practices so as to derive competitive advantage in institutions.

Track and analyze the performance and identifying new initiatives for development of the business.

Analyze and understand the impact of macroeconomic factors and industry trends on the business and create plans accordingly to optimize sales opportunities

Interact and develop relationships with key customer groups and institutional leaders

Network with Pfizer resources worldwide and utilize Pfizer global resources to profitably supplement India initiatives.

Operational / Process:

Lead local marketing teams and collaborate with regional marketing teams to formulate marketing plans, drive accurate positioning and appropriate Medico marketing for the portfolio by closely working with the Medical & Regulatory Affairs team.

Monitor progress of accounts managed and evolve action plans as appropriate (monitor account contacts, plan execution, profit, value, volume growth, and market share)

Allocate budgets across product team and maintain internal controls

Define objectives for product teams and build focus on specific customer segments in line with the given field force capacity.

Optimize field force requirements based on competition & ROI.

In conjunction with sales, marketing and manufacturing functions create the operating model for the business

Monitor the environment for developments in technology/ practices that can be adopted to improve sales and customer satisfaction

Explore opportunities for co-marketing/co-promotion of brands with alliance partners

Help define efficient and effective internal control systems and procedures and maintain internal controls in the areas of field force operations, compliance and maintain overall cost controls.

People:

Financial:

Create and meet revenue and expense budgets.

Constantly challenge costs and look to achieve synergies across other product groups in the areas of market research, promotional activities and advertising spends.

Align budgets and resources based on the account opportunities & business potential to optimize return on investment

Network with Pfizer resources worldwide and utilize Pfizer global resources to profitably supplement India initiatives.

Innovation and Technology:

Evaluate use of technology in marketing programs and recommends appropriate technology solutions.

Design and establish processes and systems, to bring agility and drive efficiency for enhanced business growth.

Use technology solutions for enabling better information availability

Leverage data and analytics to uncover gaps as well as improve customer value proposition.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Internal - Cross functional collaboration

Cost optimization: work with finance and distribution team to optimize commercial operations and improvement of cost expenditure ratios

Work with SFE team to develop tools for training, market intelligence and business analytics

Collaborate with MCM (Multi Channel Marketing) team to develop digital strategy to expand the reach

Work with Digital team to develop comprehensive business dashboard aligning different platforms

Work with People & Candidate Experience on talent acquisition, retention and development plan

Work with corporate compliance team to ensure complete understanding of MAPP and implementation without any deviation.

To manage a team of around 30 colleagues.

Skills / Knowledge / Qualification / Experience:

12- 15 years of sales and marketing experience including the pharmaceutical industry with significant exposure to strategic portfolios and working closely with the Country Manager / Market leader

Experience in marketing of high science and differentiated portfolios

Focus on P&L and achieving commercial targets & goals.

Strong financial acumen and business orientation.

Excellent communication skills and presentation skills

Innovative thinking and performance focused

Strong Leadership with knowledge-based perspective, people management and change management capability

High level of agility and adaptability

Comfort around Country Management Forum / Country Leadership team interactions

Confidence to interact with the external stakeholders

Versatile / multifunctional experience

Education

Post Graduate Qualification in any discipline, along with a Professional degree in Finance / MBA in Marketing.
