Role Description

The Cloud IaaS security Engineer will be working with DWS strategic cloud infrastructure architects and CISO on solutioning, directing, and leading the delivery of overall cloud setup and application migration. The focus of the role is to bring niche cloud infra expertise and support/execute against the DWS business and overall IT strategy by providing a secure, reliable, flexible, sustainable and cost-efficient cloud environment leveraging modern cloud methodologies and tooling. Your key responsibilities

As you help us shape our new environment and ways of working your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Being responsible for supporting the engineering aspects of cloud technologies and platforms- this will include IaaS mainly followed by PaaS, automation and orchestration (experience in do so is of paramount importance)
• Assessing current IaaS implementations, including designing and implementing cloud server, platform, landing zone and associated cloud infrastructure
• Establishing and instilling industry leading standards and practices within Infra engineering and implementing required operational and security controls and policy
• Building strong working relationships with DevOps, CISO, Application development teams and providing technical leadership
• Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends
• Work with the third-party suppliers of cloud and security products
• Maximize value from existing investments
• Work collaboratively with wider Operational and Information Security teams providing provide technical knowledge and expertise
• Take part in post incident reviews and propose engineering resolution to improve results in any future recurrence
• Oversee cloud infrastructure build and management of the estate by working with service partners

Your skills and experience

You will have excellent DevOps knowledge and experience at enterprise level along with a technically inquisitive and delivery focused mindset. The following is a list of technical areas you should have a deep understanding of along with examples of specific technologies where we would expect either demonstratable experience or an understanding of their function in a modern cloud environment.

• Proven experience of supporting and designing IT/Security Infrastructure
• Strong technical background on cloud including networking concepts
• Hands on experience with at least 1 of the main cloud platform (Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
• Experience of Cloud Security Tools
• Infrastructure hardening experience per CISO requirements
• Ability to pick up and learn new technology approaches and make rapid decisions on the best way to use these technology advancements for the betterment of the overall security posture.
• Excellent communication skills as the ability to communicate effectively, constructively, confidently and professionally is key to the success in the role as is the ability to work with IT and Information Security teams and the wider business.
• Keen attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to actively manage workloads to meet business and department requirements.
