Role description: This position supports the existing Groundwater Modelling team in the UK to provide a valuable resource in the processing, construction and presentation of groundwater models for the assessment of water resources, contaminated land and urban regeneration projects Role accountabilities:

• The role will require remote working with UK members of the groundwater modelling team including the groundwater modelling team lead, other groundwater modellers, hydrogeologists, and the wider SER team. A highly-organised individual is needed to work around the time difference and the restrictions of remote communications. Strong collaborative communication skills are essential.
• Familiarity with techniques and groundwater software for pumping/slug test analysis, water quality analysis and bore logs beneficial.
• Working closely with the UK groundwater modelling team, day-to-day tasks will include the processing, analysis and presentation of groundwater-related data, development of hydrogeological conceptual models, construction of 2D and 3D models, scenario development and presentation of output using visualisation software.

Training will principally be via \xe2\x80\x98on the job\xe2\x80\x99 learning with the addition of online training modules and webinars to join
Key Accountabilities

• Processing data from site investigations (for example groundwater levels, well-pumping records, geological information, chemical quality) and databases (for example topographic data, rainfall data, soil and land use etc.) as required by the project manager/groundwater modelling team lead.
• Assisting the project team in the development of conceptual groundwater models for translation into 2D and 3D models.
• Present model outputs in a range of software products, including GUIs, GIS and MS Office applications.
• Ensure that interpretation of data and model rationale and outcomes are well documented so that they can be followed by the team.

• Fulfilling duties within the Arcadis business management system including the completion of mandatory training, timesheets and other submissions as required.

Desirable

• Knowledge of finite-element codes such as FeFLOW, and working experience with Visual MODFLOW or GW Vistas.

Knowledge of 2D software such as GeoStudio Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant technical first degree in a Geoscience related discipline; for example geology, engineering, geography, earth/environmental science/maths.
