The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall upkeep of all hospital areas to ensure a safe, sanitary, and patient-friendly environment. The role includes supervising housekeeping staff, ensuring compliance with infection control standards, and coordinating with various departments for smooth operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Supervise daily housekeeping activities across all hospital departments, including wards, OPD, ICU, OT, labour room, reception, and public areas.
Ensure cleaning procedures follow hospital protocols and infection control standards.
Prepare staff duty rosters, assign tasks, and monitor attendance and performance.
Train housekeeping staff in proper cleaning methods, waste segregation, and safety guidelines.
Conduct regular inspections to maintain high hygiene and sanitation standards.
Coordinate with nursing, maintenance, and administration teams for timely resolution of cleaning-related issues.
Maintain inventory and request stock for cleaning materials, linen, and housekeeping supplies.
Ensure proper biomedical waste management as per hospital guidelines.
Handle patient/visitor complaints related to housekeeping and take corrective action.
Ensure adherence to safety standards, PPE usage, and hospital protocols.
Prepare daily/weekly reports and update management on housekeeping activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 12th pass; Diploma in Housekeeping / Hospitality preferred.
2-5 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-handling skills.
Basic understanding of infection control, waste segregation, and hygiene standards.
Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency cleaning tasks.
