A UK based Pharmaceutical enterprise is seeking a highly skilled SQL Server database developer with a strong background in building scalable, high-quality and high-performance database applications on the Microsoft SQL Server technology stack for it's application development team in Ahmedabad.
The recruitment is being conducted to fill up the positions in the team that will be re-writing the company's application stack in .net and SQL server. As a SQL developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining internal and external facing SQL Server databases. You will work with a team of experienced analysts, developers and business resources to build highly-performing enterprise systems that improve clinical outcomes and increase staff productivity and financial performance.
Responsibilities Overview

• Develop applications and integration to streamline operations for users and departments.
• Integrate and extend MS-SQL databases including both custom and licensed applications.
• Write technical procedures and documentation for the application interfaces developed.
• Works in a multi-developer environment with version control, change management and continuous improvement protocols.
• Works closely with Application support team, team leads and project management teams to review requirements. Develop, recommend and discuss technical designs that meet those requirements.
• Track, monitor and close user requests escalated from the help desk; document activities and solutions. Provide emergency support as necessary, including after-hours.
• Analyze, document, and perform system configuration and setup as well as integrate and get involved with system testing for both externally developed and in-house developed applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing systems.
• Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
• Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology.

Skills / Attributes Required

• 3+ years' experience with strong database schema design, stored procedure optimization, query tuning, SOA and distributed systems architecture

• Expertise in TSQL: Writing complex queries, stored procedures, cursors, etc. Ability to review and understand existing SQL code and improve/understand it.
• Database performance tuning, supportability and logging experience with tools.
• System level, application level and database level performance management.
• 3+ years in the IT industry and an understanding of the full life cycle of development
• Must be highly creative and have extremely strong problem-solving skills
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting to development groups.
• Must have a thorough understanding of:

• How web applications are architected
• How web servers and clients interact
• The influence of software and hardware architecture on each other
• SQL Server Query Optimizer, memory structure, index analysis, maintenance plans

• Must be accustomed to working with Microsoft Development environment
• Visual Studio/Team Foundation Server/Dev Ops
• SQL Server Management Studio and other database tools
• IIS
• Must be able to:

• Work effectively with others in a collaborative team environment
• Provide technical leadership through design, initiative, creativity, and being a team player
• Manage work assignments to meet deadlines under an aggressive schedule
• Translate business and design goals into a quality product

(Working Hours/Timing: 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm 6 months and 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm 6 months due to daylight UK timing)
