The High Voltage Operations Coordinator (HVOC) is an appointed person who will assist the High Voltage Operating Authority (HVOA) execute the overall accountability and responsibility of the control and safety of all Electrical apparatus and works at the MacIntyre Wind Farm. The role will assist the HVOA to provide technical advice, governance for the management of safe access, training, competency and authorisations for all electrical work at MacIntyre Wind Farm. The role will also actively support the broader project electrical team to fulfill its key functions.






























Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of all Acciona Energia Safe Systems of Work relating to electrical aspects of the project.
  • Assist with the execution of the High Voltage Permit System.
  • Assist with the development and safe implementation of all High Voltage Switching Sheets/Instructions.
  • Assist with maintaining all required registers of Permits, Worker and Contractor Licencing and Competencies
  • Ensuring Project Personnel are undertaken works safely by Performing Safety Audits as required.
  • Conduct required site specific training of personnel including any associated verification of competency (VOC).
  • Contribute to electrical risk assessments and/or the evaluation of risk control effectiveness.
  • Develop/assist with developing/verifying any required \xe2\x80\x9cLock Out/Tag Out\xe2\x80\x9d procedure forms.
  • Reviewing Vendor/Contractor Safe Work Method Statements, Work Instructions, Technical Notifications and Test Reports.
  • Assist with ensuring all Electrical Assets are secured to prevent un-authorised entry.
  • Assist with the process of reporting and investigating any electrical incident.
  • Continuous improvement to ensure good electrical industry practice, and refinements and associated change management across the workforce as required to ensure awareness, competency and compliance;
  • Working collaboratively and effectively across the MacIntyre Wind Farm project team/Vendors/Contractors.

  • Ensuring that all electrical activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all Project Personnel.
  • A complete understanding of all electrical works undertaken on the project.
  • Ensuring all documentation and registers are current, update and compliant.
  • Leading by example relating to Electrical Safety and Compliance.































Required Skills and Competencies
  • Cert III in Electrotechnology or equivalent/similar.
  • Current Queensland Electrical Workers Licence (Mechanic).
  • Current LVR/CPR/First Aid Competencies.
  • Current High Voltage Switching and Coordination training.
  • Minimum 5 years continual experience in High Voltage Switching and Coordination.
  • Minimum 5 years continual experience of High Voltage Permitting Systems.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in High Voltage Testing.
  • Current GWO Training.
  • Cert IV Training and Assessing (preferrable).
  • Understanding of Network Supply Authority protocols and systems.
  • Experience in either the power generation, or distribution industries.
  • Sound knowledge of Electrical Safety Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards relevant to the project.
  • Experience in supervision of Vendors/Contractors external service providers.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills coupled with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure.
  • Experience working with renewable energy systems.
