Job Title: General Manager - Supply Chain Management (SCM) Business: Aditya Birla Renewables - Solar & Wind Department: Supply Chain Management Location: Mumbai (with travel to sites / vendor facilities as required) Reports To: Head - Procurement
Job Purpose
The SCM Manager will act as the bridge between the Projects team and the Procurement function to ensure accurate identification of material requirements for Solar and Wind projects, smooth PR (Purchase Requisition) creation, timely PO (Purchase Order) processing, and on-time material delivery. The role involves coordinating with multiple stakeholders (Projects, Site, Quality, Engineering, Technology, and Procurement teams) to finalize components post site inspection and to actively resolve bottlenecks with vendors, including plant visits when required.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Project Coordination & Requirement Finalization

Work closely with Project, Site, Engineering, and Quality teams to identify and finalize required components once land and site layouts are confirmed.
Consolidate and validate material specifications, ensuring alignment with technical and quality standards.

PR & PO Support
Assist project teams in creating detailed and accurate PRs.
Provide critical inputs to Procurement teams for PO creation and vendor alignment.
Track status of PRs/POs to avoid delays in supply chain execution.

Material Delivery & Follow-up
Monitor and ensure timely material deliveries to Solar and Wind project sites.
Actively follow up with vendors, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Visit vendor/manufacturer facilities when needed to debottleneck supply chain challenges.
4.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Build strong working relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and logistics partners.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders across Projects, SCM, and Site teams to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
5.
Process Excellence & Compliance
Track and report progress of supply chain activities, highlighting risks and delays.
Ensure compliance with organizational SCM policies and procedures.
Support in standardizing documentation and best practices across renewable projects.
Candidate Profile
Education: B. Tech / BE in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field; MBA in Supply Chain preferred.
Experience: 15-20 years in Supply Chain / Project Coordination roles, in Renewables (Solar/Wind) or related EPC/IPP companies.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and project-based material planning.
Hands-on experience in handling site-based requirements and vendor follow-ups.
Good communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally with site, engineering, and procurement teams.
Willingness to travel to project sites and vendor facilities.
Strong negotiation and coordination abilities.
