The role is to support the ambitions of Securities Services (SSv) Technology by delivering technology programmes, c.$10m, across a range of products. The role is also accountable and responsible for the growth development and interaction of 300+ SSv Technology staff in India. Represent SSv technology in relevant forums at the Country, Regional levels What you\'ll do: Provide leadership and oversight of the technology programmes and services provided by the SSv Tech India team. Responsible for collaborating with peer asset class leads and other senior technologists to implement MSS IT and asset class goals. Responsible for building and nurturing a world-class engineering practice capability to attract, develop and retain technology talent. Develop a roadmap to communicate culture goals, sustainability initiatives, learning opportunities for the regional team. Responsible for providing support to local regional head, when necessary, on matters relating to HR and operations. Responsible for governing risk responsibly, promoting ethical management of risks, and ensuring procedures are adhered to and partnership with Global, Regional and Country Risk management stakeholders What you will need to succeed in the role: A successful Technology Leader must have a broad knowledge of program management principles, practical agile experience, a strong technical background, and proven experience in continuously improving the ways of working of a technology team. Ability to build relationships at all levels, strong communications skills, and ability to navigate and influence across the organizational matrix, in particular where there may be conflicting priorities. Demonstrate positive and collaborative values and behaviours ensuring they are reflected across all people delivery touch points. Demonstrate strategic focus, operating strategically, and driving delivery aligned to strategy. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, able to effectively communicate key initiatives and tailor approach dependent on target audience. Can inspire those around them to \'go the extra mile Requirements Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines or a fast changing discipline The role requires a comprehensive understanding of how all value units / products / regions / legal entities collectively integrate, alongside a comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of HSBC Management responsibility of multiple teams, through subordinate managers, with accountability for independent budgets Covers a wide range of diverse activities that require complex judgements and solutions based on conceptual thought and strategic vision and analysis Develops new and adapts existing processes for increased quality and efficiency whilst encouraging others to seek new ideas/solutions to day to day problems. Latitude to make decisions within the value unit / region / product / legal entity strategy guidelines. There is direction from the long-term business goals with few or no policies to direct how the role should work. Creates business plans for own teams and expected to contribute into value unit / region / product / legal entity strategy. The role holder must possess a high level of sensitivity to the audience, be able to modify the beliefs and opinions of others, and negotiate with significant latitude for the final outcome.
