Roles & Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Oversee daily mining operations to ensure safety, productivity, and profitability. Implement best practices in mining techniques and equipment usage. Facilitated the onboarding and Management of the mine developer and operator (MDO) as a key business partner. Demonstrate leadership mining approvals, commencement of Mining operation. Ensure that all projects (coal and Bauxite Mines of Balco and Green filed - Barra Coal Project.) are delivered on time, within scope and within budget. Ensure that all Management and government approvals need to be on track.

Strategic Planning:

Develop and execute strategic plans to meet long-term production goals. Align mine operations with corporate objectives and market demands. Pre and Post mining strategic formation to achieve Goles aliening with Govt rules and regulation and management needs. Coordinate with regulatory bodies for seamless project commencement. Enable statutory clearances, permits, and mining plan approvals.

Resource Management:

Optimize the allocation of human, financial, and material resources. Ensure efficient utilization of equipment and technologies.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments. Champion HSEs (Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability) initiatives to uphold the highest standers operational integrity. Responsible for implementation of Vedanta safety standard & Vedanta Sustainability Assurance Programme (V-SAP). Ensuring safety audit observations are compiled to avoid any hazards and accidents. Promoting occupational health and safety measures to develop safer and healthier working environment.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure all mining activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay updated on changes in mining laws and environmental regulations.

Financial Management:

Prepare and manage the mine's budget, controlling costs while maximizing output. Analyze financial reports to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Formulated project budgets and implementation strategic aligned with business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Maintain strong relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Address concerns and ensure transparent communication regarding mining operations.

Forest & Environment Clearance:

Ensure compliance with Forest Conservation Act for diversion of forest land. Liaise with state and central authorities for timely approvals. Oversee EIA/EMP preparation and submission as per MoEF guidelines. Coordinate public hearings and statutory compliance for EC approval.

Desired Skills:



A bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field is required. A master's degree or MBA in a relevant discipline is preferred. First Class Coal Mines Manager's Certificate granted by DGMS is mandatory. Minimum of 15 years of experience in the mining industry specially from Leadership role. * Experience in Green filed Coal Mining Project.
