The Role Responsibilities

Summary

  • The role holder has to develop an understanding of the market opportunities, implement strategies and bring communications and marketing expertise to deliver business objectives that are aligned with the markets\xe2\x80\x99 corporate plan, Group Corporate Affairs and Brand and Marketing strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Contribute to overall Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing Asia visions/priorities for South Asia markets, with primary responsibility for India franchise.
  • Lead and coordinate CPBB Marketing efforts for key markets in South Asia
  • Work with the functions\xe2\x80\x99 country/cluster Heads and Management Teams to manage and implement key projects and strategy changes across the Bank
  • Lead crisis communications which includes advising Country Management Team on issues management
  • Work in partnership with CPBB Head India, Group CPBB marketing head and business stakeholders to ensure all segment and product campaigns have a business focus aligned to full year strategic priorities.
  • Grow affluent brand awareness and consideration through brand campaigns and segment/product campaigns.
  • Execute consistent CCIB marketing campaigns to reinforce the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s branding across the different business segments in India.
  • Represent key South Asian countries in CPBB Marketing agenda and development
  • Provide oversight to South Asia markets to ensure consistency in partnership with stakeholders which include:
  • India & Country CMT members
  • CABM Heads in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal and their CEOs
  • Head CABM Asia
  • Global Head, CPBB Marketing and Global Head of CCIB Marketing
Responsibilities

Strategy
  • Strategise and deliver quality marketing activities to drive exceptional client experiences utilising the right media assets and platforms with optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strategise and deliver quality sponsorship and community investment initiatives to augment the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s presence in the markets
  • Manage resources to budget and implementation of CABM comms and marketing plans.
  • Lead for delivering governance, issues and risk (operational and reputational) for CABM in India and oversee the governance standards across South Asia markets.
Processes
  • Ensure both functions follow their desk operating instructions
  • Manage the KCSA and Operational Risk standards for the Corporate Affairs and Brand and Marketing teams in the region
  • Build in best practices to allow for solutions that are in line with the B&M strategy globally and partner with COEs within B&M and CA to make sure end to end alignment is in place.
  • Proactively manage advertising and media agencies
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend ways to increase functional effectiveness and improve operational efficiencies
People & Talent
  • Work with the Regional and Cluster CEO to create a strong professional team of Corporate Affairs and Marketing professionals
  • Able to share and advise on best practices and emerging developments across the region
  • Enhance leadership capability and create a culture of talent development and empowerment in both functions. Champion capability and training requirements for the CABM teams
  • Build in best practice to allow for solutions that are on message with the CA strategy globally and partner with COE;s within CA and B&M to make sure end to end alignment is in place
  • Assess and measure the team\xe2\x80\x99s activities to ensure alignment with plans, forecasts and capacity models
Risk Management
  • Demonstrate shift towards anticipation of risk
  • Provide leadership around Risk Management, both reputational and operational to ensure they are proactively identified and mitigated in country and all issues are timely reported/escalated in line with Group and local policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership and co-ordination of issues and crisis communications to the functions at regional and country levels
  • Work with the Asia Head of CABM, to manage key projects and strategy changes that need to be communicated across the Bank in Asia
Governance
  • Accountability for the Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing budgets and scorecards.
  • Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, Group Code of Conduct and various Policies, Procedures and Guidelines of the Bank by the regional Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing teams
  • For Corporate Affairs, be Reputation Risk Control Owner\xe2\x80\x99s representative, enforcing the associated policies and procedures across the Bank
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
