Job Description

Halwai is responsible for preparing a variety of traditional and modern Indian sweets and desserts, maintaining authentic taste, texture, and presentation. The role requires expertise in Indian confectionery techniques, an understanding of regional flavors, and adherence to hygiene and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare a wide range of Indian sweets such as gulab jamun, rasgulla, jalebi, laddoo, barfi, peda, halwa, and other regional specialties. Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes or instructions. Monitor cooking processes to achieve desired flavor, texture, and color. Maintain quality and consistency of products in taste and presentation. Ensure freshness of ingredients and follow proper storage methods. Develop new sweet recipes and seasonal offerings in coordination with the head chef. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the sweet-making area as per HACCP and food safety standards. Manage portion control and minimize wastage. Operate and maintain traditional and modern kitchen equipment used in sweet preparation. Assist in planning production based on event bookings and daily requirements.
