Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Service Excellence:

Greet and seat guests with a warm and professional welcome. Present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences. Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the Point of Sale (POS) system. Serve food and drinks promptly, following the established service standards (e.g., serving from the right, clearing from the right).

Product Knowledge:

Maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. Upsell appetizers, desserts, and premium beverages to increase the average check size.

Restaurant Upkeep (Side Work):

Perform "mise-en-place" tasks: polishing cutlery, glassware, and folding napkins. Ensure tables are set according to the meal period (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) and restaurant standards. Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the service stations and dining area throughout the shift. Getty Images

Guest Relations:

Anticipate guest needs (e.g., refilling water, providing extra napkins) before they are requested. Address guest queries or minor complaints immediately and escalate significant issues to the Captain or Manager. Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in during the meal.

Billing & Closing:

Prepare and present accurate bills to guests. Process payments (cash, credit cards, or room postings) securely and efficiently. Reset tables immediately after guests depart to prepare for the next arrival.

Requirements:



Education:

High School Diploma or Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management.

Experience:

0-2 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Fresh graduates with a passion for service are often encouraged to apply.

Skills:

Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety.
Ability to operate POS systems (like Micros or IDS) is a plus. Fluency in English; knowledge of local or additional foreign languages is an advantage.

Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene and follow the hotel's uniform code.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry heavy trays.

Interpersonal Skills:

A polite, "can-do" attitude with a focus on teamwork.

Punctuality:

Strict adherence to shift timings and reliability.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
