About the Role:

The GSOC Security Operations Center (GSOC) Manager leads the day-to-day activities of assigned shifts in the client GSOC(Novartis). This position is responsible for line-level supervision of up to twenty operators, including Event monitoring and Alarm monitoring Team leaders. The GSOC Manager assures that all GSOC positions are staffed with qualified personnel and that all operations are conducted in line with established policy and procedure under the supervision of REFS Security. This job position is responsible for managing the operations, systems, and personnel within the GSOC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct shift briefings to provide updates, assignments, training, and uniform compliance. Maintain situational awareness of natural and man-made events that may compromise the safety and security of personnel, business operations, and infrastructure for Novartis locations globally.
  • Customize and update licensed services like Everbridge, Travel Tracker, etc. as per emerging situations. Regular check, maintenance, clean up, and upgradation of all Templates and Variables in Everbridge.
  • Draft and send emergency mass notifications and other crisis communications as laid down in protocols. Assist Region Heads of Protective Security with the development and/or revision of security operation center processes, protocols, and systems. Independently manage communication support relationships with regional leadership, including maintaining regular communications, requirements meetings, and other engagements necessary to ensure the flow of information.
  • Work with Global Crisis communications and NEM teams to ensure an accurate and timely flow of information in times of crisis. Responsible for training and development of analysts on all GSOC operations. Conduct performance assessments and grade all analysts.
  • Ensure systems are in place and maintained to properly document Novartis obligations. Coordinate software/hardware updates of GSOC systems. Responsible for maintaining written procedures for all processes within the GSOC.
Role Requirements

Essential Requirements:
  • Strong organizational skills, planning, and overall project tracking and management. Strong understanding and application of Security and crisis management principles, practices, and standards.
  • Strong management capabilities of low-level experience Security employees. Ability to communicate efficiently in English: speech, writing, and presentation.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, database, graphics, and word processing abilities. Strong experience with CCTV, card access, mass notification, and global intelligence software (NC4).
  • Graduate in any field. Preferred Postgraduate. Law Enforcement or military experience is preferred but not necessary
  • Minimum five years of experience in SOC environment with at least three years in a managerial role.
  • Experience working with global risk intelligence, and incident response. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other applicable Microsoft applications.
