The span Electrical /span Engineer will coordinate all design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion. The span Electrical /span Engineer will also assist the estimating team in preparation of estimates and project proposals. This position is accountable to provide all design activities in accordance with applicable Codes and Standards, including all of SNC-Lavalin\'s policies and procedures, such as Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control. /p p p strong span How will you contribute to the team /span /strong /p p p span To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following: /span /p ul li Prepare conceptual and detail engineering for assigned Transmission and Distribution projects. /li li Assist in developing plot plans and elevation drawings for outdoor substation equipment. /li li Develop Switchgear room and Control room layout drawings for substation projects. /li li Assist in developing underground cable routing conduit and trench plan layout and sections for distribution network. /li li Prepare electrical material and Protection system performance specifications. /li li Review Customer\'s System Protection requirements and develop Protection and control systems from conceptual to implementation stage. /li li Prepare Basis of Memorandum for Protection and Control system as required /li li Prepare Power Single Line Diagram, Relay and Metering One-line diagram and Communication architectural block diagram. /li li Prepare of AC three-line diagram, Elementary Schematics and Wiring diagrams. /li li Perform AC and DC auxiliary system sizing calculations /li li Prepare Bills of Materials and Cable Schedules. /li li Assist in relay setting calculations, protection coordination study and IED set files /li li Assist in preparing project estimates using data from the utility material database when required. /li li Work closely with peers to ensure accurate delivery and thorough electrical design that will meet industry standards and specifications and meet good engineering practices. /li li Maintain complete project documentation with respect to engineering studies and calculations, all design packages. /li li Maintain good working relationship with internal groups that support project such as other Engineering disciplines, Drafting, Procurement, Construction and Project Management etc. /li li Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members. /li li Construction support including resolving site queries, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects. /li li Work closely with peers and other discipline engineers to ensure accurate delivery that will meet utility Standards, industry standards and meet good engineering practices, policies and procedures. /li li Maintain complete project documentation with respect to all design packages in coordination with document control specialist. /li li Maintain good working relationship with internal groups that support project such as other Engineering disciplines, Drafting, Procurement, Construction and Project Management etc. /li li Reports to the Substations Engineering Manager and/or Project Engineering Lead. /li /ul p p strong span What will you contribute /span /strong /p ul li A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution. /li li A minimum of 8-10 years of experience after graduation as Substation Electrical engineer in the field of Transmission and Distribution is considered to have gained the required experience for the position. /li li P.Eng registration with PEO or equivalent required. /li li Good knowledge of North American codes and standards such as CSA, NEC, IEEE, Reg 22/04. /li li Experience in AutoCAD and Bentley MicroStation is an asset. /li li Working knowledge of ProjectWise and Electronic Document Management Systems is a must. /li li Experience in Hydro One and Toronto Hydro Standards is an asset. /li li Experience in working with client engineers in client offices is an asset. /li li Experience on MathCAD, ASPEN or ETAP software is an asset. /li li Knowledge of modern power systems, power system protection and relay technologies. /li li Experience with distribution utilities is an asset. /li li Experience with SEL or GE relays is an asset. /li li Good written and verbal communication skills. /li /ul p p strong span What We Can Offer You /span /strong /p p br/ span - Varied, interesting and meaningful work /span br/ span - A hybrid working environment with flexibility and great opportunities /span br/ span - Opportunities for training and, as the team grows, career progression or sideways moves /span br/ span - An opportunity to work within a large global multi-disciplinary consultancy on a mission to change the ways we approach business as usual /span br/ br/ strong span Why work for AtkinsR alis /span /strong br/ br/ span We at AtkinsR alis are committed to developing its people both personally and professionally.
