Job Description

This role leads the coatings R&D function, focusing on the development of emulsions, dispersing agents, and thickeners, while driving innovation and product performance improvement. It requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry and extensive experience in formulation, compliance, raw material evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration for commercial product launches.
Reporting to the Executive Leadership, you will:

• Lead the R&D function for coating technologies, including development of emulsions, dispersing agents, and thickeners
• Oversee end-to-end formulation, testing, and application development for new coating products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Production, and QA to bring innovations from lab to market
• Evaluate and qualify raw materials, suppliers, and sourcing alternatives for quality and cost optimization
• Ensure adherence to global regulatory standards including REACH, RoHS, and VOC norms
• Support customer trials, field application, and commercial product launches through technical engagement
• Manage budgets, project timelines, and team development, ensuring timely and successful product delivery

15+ years of experience in coatings R&DOnly with Ph.D. in Chemistry & expertise in emulsion, compliance & testing

• Holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a specialization in polymers, coatings, or materials science
• Brings 15+ years of experience in R&D within the coatings or specialty chemicals sector
• Has deep knowledge of emulsion polymerization, additives, and coating system behavior
• Is well-versed in ASTM, ISO standards, and testing protocols for paint and coatings performance
• Demonstrates strong project management, innovation mindset, and cross-functional leadership capabilities
• Experience with customer-centric product development and scaling from lab to plant is highly preferred
